We had the opportunity to speak with Derek Russell, and our hearts go out to him during this incredibly difficult time. Just a month ago, Derek tragically lost his father, with whom he shared his home. Now, that same home has been completely destroyed in the devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena. In just a few weeks, Derek has lost everything—his father’s treasured belongings, his own possessions, and the place he called home.
After hearing Derek’s story firsthand, we know how overwhelming the road ahead is. He now faces the urgent need to find shelter, replace essential items, and rebuild his life from scratch. But through it all, he remains strong and hopeful, knowing that with support, he can get through this.
